Overview
One of today’s most important challenges is the reduction of the building sector’s energy demand. But while the focus lies mainly on the reduction of energy demand for heating, thermal comfort in summer and the corresponding impact on the total amount of energy consumption is mostly disregarded.
This study gives an insight into future room temperature conditions and the energy demand for cooling of residential buildings in Switzerland considering the impact of the expected climate change.
The aim is to determine measures for new residential buildings that can be applied today leading to the optimisation of their total energy balance and thermal comfort for their entire lifetime.
