Overview
The project has two main goals:
a) Technical inventory of existing embankments in Switzerland. Interviews on design practices and constraints. Analysis of an assortment of embankments concerning :
- reference load case and structure dimensions and
- structure dimensions in comparison to up-to-date design knowledge.
b) To study the behaviour of rockfall protection embankments with steep slopes and natural stone masonry in small-scale quasi-2D-experiments
