Overview
ProColombia is the Colombian national agency for the promotion of non-mining-energy exports, foreign direct investment, international tourism and country branding.
It facilitates the promotion of tourism in international markets, with sustainable and regenerative tourism as a priority. However, in order for the organization to contribute effectively, it is necessary to strengthen the internal tools of the entity by promoting Colombia as the #1 destination for sustainability in the region, taking into account the relevance of Colombia in the sector.
The Institute of Tourism and Mobility at Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts (HSLU) has collaborated closely with Switzerland Tourism to create a sustainability program known as "Swisstainable." This initiative has been developed in partnership with Switzerland Tourism and has received active participation from prominent tourism associations. The aim of the mandate of HSLU is to support ProColombia in the development, strengthening and international promotion of Colombia as a sustainable tourism destination.
The collaboration between ProColombia and HSLU has great potential to strengthen sustainable tourism in Colombia. By utilising the expertise and resources of both institutions, the aim is to jointly develop and implement initiatives that promote environmentally sustainable practices, increase the country's attractiveness as a sustainable destination and have a positive impact on local communities and the environment. This partnership can bring innovative ideas, research and knowledge exchange to promote the growth of sustainable tourism in Colombia.
