Overview
The aim of the federal government's climate strategy is to decarbonize the building stock and increase the use of PV in urban buildings. However, in very few cases can the usual black solar modules be integrated into the existing building and urban landscape in a visually appealing way. The Innosuisse project "Solar Design Tools" is tackling this challenge by developing a planning and design tool that significantly shortens the design time and allows statements to be made about the aesthetics and the expected energy efficiency.
The ITC project builds on this in a meaningful way: An interactive visualization and mediation tool using augmented reality for stakeholders who plan and decide on the use of PV systems. The visualization technology closes the abstraction gap between planning and implementation in a clear and low-threshold way. The aim of the ITC project is to visualize and discuss the modular PV options in a desired environment on site. The AR visualization allows design clarifications to be made without having to produce real modules. As a proof of concept, the ITC project is intended to create the basis for a detailed project application to SwissEnergy.
