Biography
Andri Hardmeier first studied musicology and philosophy at the University of Vienna, then theoretical physics and philosophy at the University of Zurich. After graduating in theoretical physics and a further year as a research assistant at the University of Zurich, he switched to music theater as a dramaturge. In addition to engagements at Theater Freiburg, KunstFestSpiele Herrenhausen and Ruhrtriennale, Andri Hardmeier has made guest appearances at Bayreuth Festival, Salzburg Festival, Tongyeong International Music Festival, Hanover State Opera, Theater an der Wien, La Scala in Milan and Theater Aachen, among others. As a dramaturge, he has worked with numerous directors, including Claus Guth, Ludger Engels, Eva-Maria Höckmayr, Thorleifur Örn Arnarsson and Marcus Lobbes. From 2011 to 2022, Andri Hardmeier was Head of Music at the Swiss Arts Council Pro Helvetia. He has been a member of the program group of the Festival Neue Musik Rümlingen since 2023 and artistic co-director of the Collegium Novum Zurich since 2024.
