Biography
As electronic engineer ETH there came 6 years hardware design and project lead at Schmid Telecom AG in Zurich, then 10 years of ASIC design in the US in New Jersey and southern California at Globespan Technologies, Globespan Virata, Conexant Systems and Qualcomm, before returning to Switzerland in 2006 as a research associate at the FHNW in Brugg.
Later he was for 15 years at the NTB in Buchs (meanwhile OST), where he lectured on digital electronics, microprocessor programming and FPGA design while also leading different projects with the industry.
Laszlo Arato was always interested in immersive technologies, trying many things and working on augmented reality projects like “LifeClipper2”. Since 2017 he engaged privately intensively with VR and founded together with his son and a friend in 2020 the company VRilliant GmbH to develop team experiences in VR. With his relocation to the HSLU in the fall of 2024 he is now able to apply his passion for VR in teaching and projects.
The spare time activities of Laszlo Arato are many-sided, he likes to be on, in and under water, is a private pilot, loves to be in the mountains and plays the guitar.
