Biography
Besides working in the library Martina Lussi holds a Master of Arts in Contemporary Arts Practice and works as an artist.
In her artistic practice she creates musical compositions, presents installations and performs live in various contexts. Her artistic practice is based around the act of listening. Her compositions incorporate fieldrecording, syntesized sounds and voice. Through a variety of sonic material she creates broad soundscapes.
Recently she published "Serrinha Do Alambari Soundwalk" on a Split LP on Otium Records. The piece was composed during a three week residency in Brazil. It was originally composed for headphones and experienced as a soundwalk through the brazilian rainforest.
Martina Lussi published her first album Selected Ambient on Hallow Ground in 2017. Her latest album Diffusion Is a Force was published by the french label Latency in January 2019. Lussi has presented installations in various exhibitions including the Swiss Art Awards in Basel, Künstlerhaus Dortmund and the Museum of Modern Art in Rio de Janeiro. She has performed at Festival such as Novas Frequencias, Atonal Berlin, Rhizom Festival Zurich, SOY Festival Nantes or OK LÀ Festival Montreal.

Alongside her own artistic practice she is currently working as a member of the Seeking Birdscapes research project team. A collaborative project between the Lucerne School of Music + Lucerne School of Art and Design.
