Career History
- Lecturer at the Lucerne School of Engineering and Architecture of the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts, Switzerland, since October 2011. Teaching in basic electrical engineering as well as advanced courses in signal processing and communications technology. Engagement in applied research projects in the areas of digital communications and computer vision.
- Senior Researcher at the Communications Laboratory of the University of Kassel, Germany, from April 2006 to September 2011. Coordination of research activities within the area of digital signal processing with an emphasis on wireless radio and sensor systems. Responsibilities in lecturing and student supervision.
- Researcher at the Advanced Telecommunications Research Institute International (ATR) in Kyoto, Japan, from September 2002 until March 2006. Development of novel solutions for decentralized wireless networks, partly in collaboration with industry and university partners. Focusing on array signal processing methods for directional antennas and medium access schemes for ad hoc networks.
- Research Assistant at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) Zurich, Communication Technology Laboratory, from January 1997 until August 2002. Engagement in a number of European research projects and supervision of student projects while studying towards PhD degree.
- Software Architect at NCR/AT&T Global Information Solutions in Wallisellen, Switzerland, from 1992 to 1996. Development of object-oriented middleware and client-server solutions in C/C++ for various customers from industry, banking, and administration.
