Biography
Tania B Lopez Garcia holds a MSc in electrical engineering with specialization in automatic control (2018) from the center for research and advanced studies of the national polytechnic institute (CINVESTAV), Mexico. She also holds a PhD in renewable energies and energy efficiency (2023) from the University of Zaragoza, Spain, with a focus on electrical grid modeling and management via physics-informed graph neural networks.
Prior to starting work as a research associate at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts (HSLU) in June 2023, she worked as a researcher focused on analysis and optimization of renewable energy sources at the Energy Resources and Consumption Research Center (CIRCE) in Zaragoza, Spain. Here her work was focused on multi-criteria decision analysis of wind farm placement, and temperature monitoring and forecast of wind and solar farms using time series forecasting.
Currently, her work focuses on applications of data science and machine learning to power systems and local energy markets.
