Biography
Since March 2019 I have the pleasure to lead the Institute of Electrical Engineering and the Competence Center Digital Energy & Electric Power in the Department of Engineering & Architecture at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences (HSLU). I combine more than 10 years of professional experience in the utility industry, project management and R&D. Prior to this task, I worked at Arnold AG as project manager PMO in energy, transport, telecommunications and water infrastructure projects, where I was responsible for the project management office in the Eastern region. Prior to that, I worked for Swissgrid, the Swiss transmission system operator, as a specialist in asset management strategy and system operation and as head of training for power market and system operations.
I hold an MSc. in electrical engineering and information technology from the University of Patras, Greece and a PhD in power systems planning from the Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich (ETHZ). I am fluent in German, English and Greek.
My special interests include the digitalization of the electric power industry, the integration of e-mobility and local energy markets in modern power systems.
