Biography
Jonas Willisegger studied political science, law and history at the Universities of Bern and Lausanne. Before joining the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts, he worked as a strategy developer and deputy information officer at the Federal Office for National Economic Supply (Department of Economics, Education and Research). In this interdepartmentally networked staff function, he gained an in-depth insight into crisis preparedness at the national and international level with regard to the Swiss economy. Previously, he worked in policy research and consulting at Büro Vatter in Bern, where he was involved in policy analyses and policy evaluations.
At HSLU, he has headed the Competence Center Public & Nonprofit Management since 2020 and has worked as a lecturer, project and study leader at the Institute of Business and Regional Economics (IBR) since 2013. He leads the Master of Advanced Studies in Public Management as well as the associated CAS programs (CAS Public Management and Policy, CAS Management Fundamentals for Public Administration). He also lectures at the bachelor and master level in economic policy, political management and governance. His research focuses on health policy issues as well as governance and political steering issues in the broad context of public management (strategic public management, community leadership models, political participation issues, etc.).
