Institutes The combined know-how of one centre and three institutes

The School's centre as wells as its three institutes administer the four areas of mandated activity – bachelor’s and master’s degree programmes, continuing education, applied research and development, and service projects. Thus it is ensured that new knowledge from theory is transferred into practice and vice versa. The following pages are in German.

Centre of Teaching and Education

The core activities of the Lucerne School of Social Work are to provide a comprehensive study programme in the social sector that is both practical and theoretical. The Centre of Teaching and Education is responsible for delivering this. 

Institute of Social Work and Law

In the Institute of Social Work and Law is an interdisciplinary team of social workers and lawyers and addresses issues of a legal nature.

Institute of Sociocultural Community Development

For and with its partners, the Institute for Sociocultural Community Development maps out solutions for complex challenges. Moreover, it discusses questions and problems relating to urban and neighbourhood development, public space, intergenerational communal living, and civil society.

Institut für Sozialpädagogik und Sozialpolitik

Das Institut für Sozialpädagogik und Sozialpolitik erarbeitet für Individuen, Organisationen und die Politik Lösungen für komplexe Herausforderungen zur Bewältigung sozialer Probleme. Gemeinsam mit Anspruchsgruppen aus verschiedenen Lebenswelten werden dabei an den Schnittstellen Soziales, Bildung, Erziehung und Gesundheit innovative Lösungen aus unterschiedlichen fachlichen Perspektiven entwickelt.
