The nine-month or so preliminary studies in classical music or jazz prepare school students studying towards their academic baccalaureate or similar school-leaving qualification for the bachelor's degree entrance examination at the Lucerne School of Music or other music college.
The preliminary studies typically include individual instruction in the instrumental/vocal main subject as well as in ensemble work and music theory.
Other preparatory studies, which prepare for entrance examinations at music colleges but do not include individual instrumental/vocal lessons, may be found here.
The preliminary studies course comprises 25 weeks of instruction. It cannot be repeated.
