Completing the Church Music C programme with more than one main subject – that is, a combination of the programme versions listed – is possible in most cases (extra fees apply). The Study Coordinator in Church Music will be happy to answer your queries.
The curriculum is aligned with musical practice in church services.
Course dates
Classes normally start in early September and extend to 30 weeks of instruction per school year. Group instruction normally takes place on Wednesday afternoons as well as some Saturdays. In addition, students participate in two to three Sunday-afternoon church services. Personal tuition is individually scheduled with the lecturer in the main subject and may take place on other school days.
Certificate
Participants conclude the programme with the Church Music C diploma.
The qualifications acquired with the Church Music C diploma with Choral Conducting as the main subject are equivalent to those required for the «CH I» certificate for Swiss work-study programmes in Choral Conducting.
Students of the University of Lucerne who fulfil certain criteria may take Church Music C as a Minor in their theological studies (both in a practical and theoretical study programme).
