International & Interdisciplinary Experience on sustainable city scenarios.
Join our International and Interdisciplinary Summer School, where students from both Switzerland and Bosnia come together for a two-week academic experience. Held in collaboration with the University of Sarajevo, this unique program offers the opportunity to engage in group work that focuses on real-world sustainability challenges.
Week 1: Online sessions and individual written assignment (remote) -
Week 2: Group work in Sarajevo optional program: field trips
Head of Program: Dr. Bettina Minder of the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts, Prof. Dr. Adnan Pasic of the University Sarajevo, in colaboration with Dr. Michael Walczak, ETH Zürich.
Two weeks: Dive into a comprehensive learning experience that combines 1 week online preparation with a week on site in Sarajevo. This program combines theoretical insights with practical application.
Interdisciplinary Approach: Tackle complex sustainability scenarios designed by ETH Zurich.
Group work: Collaborate in small, dynamic teams, leveraging different perspectives to address pressing global sustainability issues.
Target group
If you are curious and ready to work on complex challenges of sustainable future city, this you’re in the target group. Participants have intercultural competences, while seeking to enhance their skills in cross-cultural communication and teamwork.

completed, B2 level in English
Possible recognition:
3 ECTS - Erweiterungsmodule (E): Bachelor Information Technology , Digital Ideation, Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning, Business Information Technology
Costs/Visa:
There are no course fees for students from the School of Computer Science and Information Technology. Travel and accommodation costs must be paid individually by each student.
We recommend organizing into groups for AirBnB accommodations. Flights are relatively inexpensive if booked early. Numerous restaurants and street food provide a wide selection of low cost food options.
Swiss do not need a Visum to enter Bosnia.
Instead a valid passport is required.
