Library card
During the registration process, you will be asked to state the number of your library card.
Your HSLU-Card doubles as your library card (even after graduation).
Library cards from other SLSP libraries (e.g., University of Basel, ETH, ZHAW, etc.) are also valid at Lucerne.
If you do not have a library card and wish to create a library account, you will get one free of charge (please notify the library desk).
To request items in swisscovery RZS, you must log into the library research gateway with your SWITCH Edu-ID.
You will then be able to click “borrow” next to your item of choice. In a next step, you will be asked to name a pick-up location. Various libraries in the Region of Central Switzerland (RZS) are eligible as pick-up locations.
As soon as the medium is ready to be picked up, the library you have chosen as your pick-up location will send you a pick-up notification by email. The medium is on hold for you for one week in the pick-up shelf. The epiry date when the medium will no longer be on hold is written on the pick-up notification or can be found in your library account in swisscovery RZS. If it is not possible for you to pick up the item by the date notified, please contact the library directly. Otherwise we will release the item for other users.
Please borrow the items from the self-pick-up shelf at self-checkout station or at the information desk before leaving the library.
If a medium is currently not available/on loan, you have the possibility to reserve it. The associated process is the same as requesting the item. You will be put on a waiting list. As soon as the book has been returned, you will receive a collection notification via email.
