Both registration and borrowing items are free of charge, provided you return your loans within the agreed time.
Create an account
To create the library account required to sign up with swisscovery RZS, you must register with the Swiss Library Service Platform SLSP using your SWITCH Edu-ID. Follow this link: https://registration.slsp.ch/?iz=rzs
If you do not yet have a SWITCH Edu-ID, you can create one using the same link.

Library card
During the registration process, you will be asked to state the number of your library card.
Your HSLU-Card doubles as your library card (even after graduation).
Library cards from other SLSP libraries (e.g., University of Basel, ETH, ZHAW, etc.) are also valid at Lucerne.
If you do not have a library card and wish to create a library account, you will get one free of charge (please notify the library desk).
To request items in swisscovery RZS, you must log into the search portal with your SWITCH Edu-ID.
You will then be able to click “borrow” next to your item of choice. In a next step, you will be asked to name a pick-up location. Various libraries in the Region of Central Switzerland (RZS) are eligible as pick-up locations.
As soon as the medium is ready for collection, the library you have chosen as your pick-up location will send you a collection notification by email.
If a medium is not currently available, you have the possibility to reserve it. The associated process is the same as requesting the item. You will be put on a waiting list. As soon as the book has been returned, you will receive a collection notification via email.
