Through the Smart-up initiative, the Lucerne School of Computer Science and Information Technology supports students and employees in the implementation of business ideas and offers coaching, further education and co-working opportunities. It maintains numerous national and international collaborations with partners from business and research in order to promote innovation and knowledge transfer. Partnerships with companies such as CSS, Glencore and Roche strengthen the development of study and research programs. The university also offers companies the opportunity to test new technologies such as AI and blockchain and to carry out practice-oriented projects with students and researchers.
