Biography
Ringo Pérez Gamote, an Industrial Engineer, completed his studies at the Superior School of Industrial Engineering at the University of Vigo, specializing in Mechanics. During his fifth year of studies, he combined his academic training with an internship at Mecanizados Losada, a company dedicated to the design, manufacturing, and installation of industrial machinery for the mining and food sectors. In his final year, he continued collaborating with the same company while developing his final degree project. Upon graduating, he joined Mecanizados Losada as a full-time employee, where he worked until 2012.
In 2012, he decided to diversify his professional career into other industrial sectors. To this end, he pursued a Master’s in Technologies and Processes in the Automotive Industry (2012-2013) at the University of Vigo while simultaneously starting work at Inasus, a company specializing in the design, manufacturing, and assembly of technological façades. His initial responsibilities included coordinating the engineering department as well as performing structural and thermal calculations.
In 2015, he became head of the technical department at Inasus, a position he held until 2018, when he decided to move to Switzerland. At Inasus, he led the development of calculations and designs for façade systems, conducted laboratory tests, and managed the technical department. His contributions spanned over 30 projects across various countries in Europe and South America.
In 2018, he relocated to Switzerland to join the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts (HSLU) as an associate researcher at the Competence Center for Building Envelopes and Civil Engineering (CCGH+IB). In 2020, he was appointed head of the research group for façades and metal construction (FG FM). His work focuses on applied research with an emphasis on the development of innovative construction systems for façades. Among his most notable projects is the façade of Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, where he contributed to defining the façade construction system and developing a parameterized manufacturing method.
Since joining HSLU, Ringo Pérez has also taught as an associate lecture and served as an auditor for tests accredited under the STS 209 standard for façades and their components. Since 2024, he has been a lecturer at HSLU, where he combines his research activities in the FG FM with service projects and teaching in the field of building envelopes.
