The Sorption Group of the Competence Center ‘Thermal Energy Systems and Process Engineering’ of the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts has developed a model for technical adsorption processes from the gas phase and produced an associated guideline for the systematic design of plants. The guideline should help process engineers to better design the appropriate dimensions of gas purification and gas recovery plants in proportion with requirements. The potential energy savings are estimated at 25 to 30 percent. The project was funded by the Swiss Federal Office of Energy (SFOE).
