The symposium in 2019 put a focus on seasonal storages and the sector coupling of electricity and heat.
The approximately 120 participants initially received an overview of storage options in Switzerland as well as examples of the use of phase change materials for heat storage. Afterwards, speakers from all over Europe presented their current projects and research in the field of sector coupling. In the last part, seasonal storages were looked at in particular. During the subsequent aperitif in the university's laboratory, the participants were given the opportunity to visit the test rigs of the Competence Center Thermal Energy Storage and exchange ideas with the researchers.
