Mit «0.0000028%» hat Stefan Tschumi eine Installation geschaffen, um die fühlbare Künstlichkeit der Stadt sichtbar zu machen.
Eine Mixed-Media Arbeit, bestehend aus einem hoch aufgelösten Print einer Fotografie des Kunstrasens – der Fake Grass-Landschaft – in Kombination mit einem C4D-Rendering, welches das Selbstbild eines Mähroboters im mathematischen Raum darstellt.
Stefan Tschumi beschreibt Singapur als extrem eigenartig und inspirierend zugleich:
• Singapur liegt in einer der fruchtbarsten Zonen der Erde, am Äquator, was ausser der Temperatur und der Luftfeuchtigkeit überhaupt nicht wahrnehmbar ist. Die Natur ist in höchstem Masse domestiziert, kontrolliert und der menschlichen Raumplanung untergeordnet. Die Natur ist nur Naherholungszone und bietet keine Reibungsfläche wie in der Schweiz.
• Die Stadt ist sauber, sauberer als Zürich. Im direkten Vergleich nach der Ankunft ist eine Wohnzimmersauberkeit spürbar.
• Das Stadtbild Singapurs ist sehr mächtig, überwältigend und bedient sich jeglichen Codes, die international Wohlstand, Reichtum und kulturelle Vielfalt bedeuten.
Dieses dystopische Bild inspirierte ihn zu seiner Arbeit «0.0000028%», welche den prozentualen Anteil der Fläche der Fake Grass-Stage zur Fläche Singapurs darstellt.
