"The Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts is what you would like a university of applied sciences to be," is how the peer review team of AAQ (Swiss Agency of Accreditation and Quality Assurance) summarises their impression after their visit.
The Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts has completed a decisive phase on its way to the new institutional accreditation: In March 2019, a peer review team visited us and interviewed faculty members, administrative staff, current and former students, external stakeholders as well as members of the management team of the University and the FH Council. The aim of the discussion was to gain a better picture of whether and how the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts ensures and develops its quality in all its fields of activity.
The feedback from the peer review team was positive. They are impressed by the culture of dialogue at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts and explicitly praised the openness and honesty of the participants. The Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts is aware of its strenghts and challenges, and there is a considerable willingness to continuously improve.
The peer reviewers also identified potential for improvement, e.g. in communication with and involvement of the students, not least with regard to the strategy process. As far as evaluations in the performance areas are concerned, the team suggested developing an instrument toolbox for research and services.
