Sustainable Degree Programmes

Education With a Vision  —broad-based, futureproof and committed

In our degree programmes, you will acquire all the key skills required for sustainable economic activity. We pursue an integrated approach: sustainability aspects are taught in the context of relevant topics such as economics, management, finance or marketing.

Studying and the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

As a business school, we mainly focus of on the SDGs listed below:

  • SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth
  • SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production
  • SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure
  • SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being

These two SDGs also play a major role in our degree programmes:

  • SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities
  • SDG 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions

BSc in Business Administration with Major in Value Network Management

A part of the bachelor's programme in Business Administration, the major in Value Network Management strongly focuses on sustainability. The specialisation centres on developing innovative business models, designing sustainable value chains and business processes, and on project and innovation management.

International BSc in Business Administration, Sustainable Development module

This module introduces students to the challenges and opportunities of sustainable development. The aim is to critically assess, and reflect on, current issues and solutions in relation to sustainable development and to take an active role in shaping them.

The Business Ethics module, which is part of the German- and English-taught BSc in Business Administration and of the BSc in Business Psychology programme, discusses the relevance of ethics in entrepreneurship.

BSc in International Sustainable Tourism: Studying in Spain and Switzerland

This unique new degree programme was developed in cooperation with the World Tourism Organisation (UN Tourism). It integrates tourism expertise with sustainable economic development strategies for destinations and countries. Specifically, participants investigate issues of social sustainability while acquiring intercultural skills.

BSc in Mobility, Data Science and Economics

The challenges of climate change and digitalisation are radically changing the mobility industry. New and innovative business models are constantly emerging, for instance the concept of Mobility-as-a-Service. Mobility being a key driver of climate change, new environmentally-friendly approaches are in high demand. This degree programme has a specific focus on two SDGs: SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure) and SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities).

MSc in Logistics and Supply Chain Management

This degree programme teaches the key skills required to manage and develop business solutions for complex value creation systems. Defining features of the field include technological innovation and a growing demand for greater sustainability.

MSc in Real Estate: Leadership, Sustainability and Ethics

In addition to leadership skills, this module teaches ethics and sustainability criteria in a real estate context. Specifically, students are tasked with identifying moral dilemmas in the sector and with evaluating them in case studies.

Further selected courses and modules

At bachelor's level, the two compulsory modules "Sustainable Development" and "Business Ethics" in the BSc in Business Administration and International Business Administration programme mainly focus on the topic of sustainable development. However, there are a number of other courses where sustainable development is directly or indirectly relevant.

Modules such as "Strategic Network and Ecosystem Management", "Ethical Issues of Big Data", "Leadership and Ethics" and "Sustainable Tourism Management" 
are offered in the framework of our Master's programmes. The topic is also discussed in numerous other modules, and additional courses with a sustainability focus are continuously being developed.
