Rankings and accreditations are important for the quality of degree programs. The Master of Science in Banking and Finance is included in the Financial Times ranking of the world's best master’s in finance programs. As part of the CFA Affiliation Program, the MSc in Banking and Finance also maintains a close relationship with the CFA Institute. The Lucerne School of Business is also accredited by AACSB.

The Master of Science in Banking and Financeis included in the Financial Times Masters in Finance ranking. According to the FT, it is one of the world's 65 best finance study programmes. The ranking assesses various factors in the areas of students' employability and career opportunities, as well as the diversity and internationality of the programme. The MSc in Banking and Finance is ranked 57th. The MSc in Banking and Finance has been acknowledged as incorporating at least 70 percent of the CFA Program Candidate Body of Knowledge (CBOK) and placing emphasis on the CFA Institute Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice within the program. This program position students well to obtain the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation, which has become a highly respected and recognized investment credential in the world. The participation in the CFA University Affiliation Program underlines both the theoretical and practical focus of the MSc in Banking and Finance programme. Through participation in the University Affiliation Program, the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts is eligible for a limited number of student scholarships for the CFA Program each year.
