About International Management & Economics
In modern, post-industrial organisations, all employees need to manage; self-managing knowledge workers and (virtual) teams require various competencies in dealing with data information, knowledge skills, as well as intercultural intelligence. Previously, managers directed and controlled the work of the employees, today, managers operate like facilitators bringing people together, engaging them in planning the work and coordinating the completion, thus, a modern manager is more like a facilitator or coach. We facilitate the learner to know how to learn; to adapt to the challenges of new contexts through developing competencies such as problem solving, critical thinking, analysis, and self-motivation. Topics covered include intercultural and project management, value chain, entrepreneurship, and managerial economics. A two-week long workshop cover doing business in four selected regions; India, Arab World, Eastern Europe and China, the workshops are run by experts from the specific regions. The course is run in English with the option to take a few courses in German. Participants are encouraged to add an international experience by studying overseas for one semester at one of our partner schools around the world.
