Overview
Zernez is a small town of 1'200 people in the Alpine valley region of Engadin, Switzerland. As part of a board game (originally developed by ETH Zurich) a group of players is tasked with modernising the energy supply. Choices need to be made about which buildings to renovate how, and whether to invest in photovoltaic or a wood-chip heating plant as energy source.
Supported by the Swiss State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation SERI we are now creating a digital version of the board game. This way, players worldwide can participate in finding solutions tailor-made for the situation in Zernez.
The digital game will be premiered in Tokyo during the week of September 20th. Afterwards, the plan is to present it during the upcoming world expo.
