Research Doctorate PhD Research

In music, research aims to generate insight by scientific means, to reflect on artistic and music-pedagogical practice, to refine musical creative processes and to address the challenges of music education and issues of societal relevance alike. Pursuing a doctorate is a reliable pathway to acquiring the skills and knowledge required in a research environment. The programme revolves around the doctoral candidate’s own research project, which they develop according to scientific standards and in exchange with a supervisor with extensive research experience.
