Various foundations, associations and sponsors support the School with material and non-material contributions.
Since January 2013, the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts is funded by the six contributing Cantons of Lucerne, Uri, Schwyz, Obwalden, Nidwalden and Zug. The former sponsoring foundation of the School of Music was renamed «Foundation for the Promotion of Musical Talent at the Lucerne School of Music» and continues to operate under this name. The foundation supports the Lucerne School of Music with advice and through its extensive network, but also by sponsoring various of the School’s projects. The Jazz School Lucerne Association is dedicated to the continued existence and development of teaching, practice and research in the field of Jazz at the Lucerne School of Music. The Church Music Foundation Lucerne promotes high-quality church music by fostering and supporting students in the field of church music at all levels of study. Moreover, it supports church music-related programmes and projects at the Lucerne School of Music. It is also dedicated to promoting and co-sponsoring public church music events with the involvement of the Lucerne School of Music.
Since 2013, the Albert Koechlin Foundation has been supporting the Lucerne School of Music in building and advancing chamber music as a focal point. The intention is to raise the profile of Lucerne as a hub for chamber music and to further strengthen the reputation of the Lucerne School of Music.
