Master of Science Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts / FHZ in Information and Cyber Security (MSc ICS).
Students acquire extensive knowledge in technical and organizational security, covering topics such as identity and access management, offensive security, penetration testing, teaming (red, blue, purple), forensics, and incident response. They develop leadership, communication, and strategic skills while deepening their understanding of security as relates to modern technologies such as cloud, IoT, and automation.
Graduates are qualified to develop complex security concepts and lead teams and find career opportunities in various industries.
Professional roles include:
- Specialist responsible for implementing security concepts for networked information systems
- Specialist responsible in system and security administration across all forms of online services
- Specialist responsible for designing and implementing information systems for processing sensitive data (privacy)
- Leadership roles at all levels of information security
- IT security coordinator or expert for data centers, cloud, and network
- Developer of security products and technologies, as well as security solutions
- Specialist responsible for supporting the tracking, evidence preservation, and investigation of computer crimes (forensics)
- Advisor to entrepreneurs and executives, e.g., analyzing causes and effects of events, evaluating risks and vulnerabilities
Master’s programs offer a broader training than bachelor’s programs, focusing on design, architecture, and collaborating with stakeholders.
The following admission requirements apply for the MSc in Information and Cyber Security (ICS):
- Bachelor's degree in Information and Cyber Security (ICS) or bachelor's degree with equivalent level of cybersecurity knowledge
- English language proficiency at C1 level or equivalent
- Successful admission interview (waived for graduates of the bachelor's programme in ICS at the HSLU)
Note on point 2: Proof must be provided no later than the end of July in the form of an internationally recognized English language certificate. Academic IELTS and TOEFL are recommended; Pearson PTE and Cambridge Advanced are less well-known/accepted outside Europe. Applicants from the UK, Ireland, the USA, Canada, New Zealand, or Australia do not need a certificate.

Each fall (mandatory orientation week).
Standard course of study in six semesters (120 ECTS). Combination of courses, a block week and practical projects.
