The date “14 April” (4.14) contains the rounded first three digits of the Planck constant, a fundamental constant in quantum physics. Therefore, the "World Quantum Day" is celebrated on this date, a day on which researchers would like to give an understanding of quantum science and technology to the general public.
At the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts we will present you a quantum random number generator and demonstrate how it works. With different showcases, you can try out yourself why good quality random numbers must be used for encryption, simulations or in a lottery draw.
We will also show further projects from our research on quantum cryptography and quantum-safe security.
